The National Fairground and Circus Archive, based at Sheffield University, is a wonderful, well-maintained resource. Founded by its Director, Professor Vanessa Toulmin, "the core of the NFCA collection embodies the history of popular entertainment in the United Kingdom from the nineteenth century onwards". Visit them phisically or virtually.	El Ingenio in Barcelona is a treasure worth saving; luckily, when closure threatened a few years ago (the owner was retiring, and there was nobody to take over) the current King of Magic took over!
